Position Purpose
The LVN is responsible for:
  • Providing direct patient care to patients
  • Supervising care treatment and services of patient care provided by CNA’s
  • Following an individual plan of care for each patient
  • Assessment and re-assessment of patients
  • Communicating appropriate information with the interdisciplinary team
  • Reporting patient concerns and changes in condition to supervisor and/or physician in a timely manner
Position Requirements
License or Certification:
  • Current Texas State licensure as a LVN
  • CPR certification/ACLS certification recognized
Vocational Training and Experience:
  • One year experience in a comprehensive medical/surgical hospital setting preferred
  • Critical care experience in a hospital setting preferred
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions and meet deadlines in a detailed-oriented manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbal arenas
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
